AVAILABLE FOR: DJ SETS | CORPORATE

Sara Cox loves her music and plays sets that reflect her 30 years in the world of showbiz. From her 80s radio show, through brit pop to big beat and on to today's melting pot of pop, R&B, hip hop and dance, she’ll play it all.

Born in Bolton, she left her previous career behind to head to London in search of fame and fortune in the heady days of Brit Pop, 1995. She presented various tv shows, from Channel 4’s “The Girlie Show” to “MTV Hot”, Channel 5’s “Exclusive” and Channel 4 music programmes “Album Chart Show” and “Born Sloppy.” Sara presented BBC Radio 1’s Breakfast show for 3 and a half years, taking the show to various festivals and to the Balearics for the notoriously hedonistic “Radio 1’s Ibiza Weekend” and hosted numerous slots including drivetime and across the weekend.

In 2013 Sara made the move from BBC Radio 1 to BBC Radio 2 where she presented her own Friday night show “Sounds of the 80s” – 2 hours of brilliant music from the 1980s, an eclectic, exciting decade of music that is often reflected in her DJ sets. In 2019 Sara took over the Radio 2 drivetime show, taking over from Simon Mayo and Jo Whiley. Sara was a regular co-host on Radio Four’s “Loose Ends” and was the original presenter on BBC2’s “The Great Pottery Throwdown”. Apart from her family and work, Sara loves horses and has raced at Goodwood for charity and was QIPCO ambassador for the 2016 Champions Series, DJing at Ascot on Champions day.

Born out of her “Sounds of the 80s” show, Sara created the ultimate 80s live event “Just Can’t Get Enough 80s”. Selling out prestigious events and venues such as Henley Festival, Dreamland Margate, Bowlers Arena Manchester and more, “Just Can’t Get Enough 80s” has cemented itself as the greatest 80s event in the country - selling tickets in the hundreds of thousands since its inception in 2017.
